Diamond Apron
When I play lacrosse, I wear this apron to represent both where I come from and who I am. It connects me to my culture and people in Oklahoma and serves as a reminder of where I came and how my culture has molded me into who I am.

Woven Skirt
"I ordered a woven ribbon skirt from Cedar Sapling in the fall of 2024. I was initially drawn to the brand itself due to the brand’s artistry and concern for preserving southeastern Indigenous craftsmanship, with a unique modern twist. The skirt I purchased was made with lots of love and intention with the design, which drew me to it."

Dentalium Collar
When I wear my Cedar Sapling dentallium collar, I feel a particularly special connection to this specific group of young Choctaw women who are creating such a unique vision of contemporary southeastern fashion. I’ve always found it incredibly moving to wear art crafted by those I find community amongst and this delicate yet powerful dentallium collar is no different. It’s a wonderful thing to direct folks from various walks of life back to our community artisans. Cedar Sapling is certainly providing that opportunity and setting the standard while they’re at it!

Stickball Apron
That item was my first apron for stickball so it was definitely a memorable piece to purchase especially in Mississippi along with the excitement to wear it for something. So, I take care of it and wear it to demos with Eli or events here in Dallas that way I can have a few keepsakes of my stickball journey.

Ribbon skirt & Wedding Set
My Cedar Sapling Ribbon Skirt makes me feel like a woodland princess as soon as I put it on! The colors are a mix of sunset oranges and deep purples and blues. I originally wore it to speak to the Chickasaw Legislature about the importance of maintain language revitalization online programs for at large citizens. Showing up in the piece gave me the confidence to deliver my message. Now I get to prance around in it for fun! My 2nd purchase was a 2 piece set, ribbon skirt for me and a ribbon shirt for my husband. We wore these together the day we got married. It truly felt sacred to wear along with my jewelry from other indigenous artists. @oh.ki.yo @sownseedbead Together we complemented each other as the pieces were created to be shared. I will always cherish this set and extend my gratitude for the hands that made our day so special. Yakoke <3

Ribbon Skirt
I reached out to Cedar Sapling to help me create a ribbon skirt that represents my culture. I knew only that I wanted it to be orange and to have Choctaw diamonds, I left the rest up to the artist. It’s one of my favorite skirts and I wear it often. It makes me feel beautiful. Every time I put it on, there is at least one person asking me who made it or telling me they like it, especially the diamonds. It’s vibrant, it’s comfortable. I love that I can dress it up or down. Representation of us in all aspects is very important. As Indigenous people, we're often silenced or simply not included. I am proud to wear my traditional diamond pattern shirt. Beautifully crafted by the Sisters of Cedar Sapling. When I walk into these big spaces, I feel confident, visible, and powerful.
They are making all of us in our community so proud! Hlampko Pia!
